TMD/TMJ Disorder
Many people suffer from Temporo-Mandibular Disorder of TMD—better known in the mainstream media as TMJ. TMJ is simply an acronym for the Temporo-Mandibular Joint which is the joint that is located in front of the ear and is merely one of many components affected by Temporo-Mandibular Disorder.
In my own words, I (Dr. Jay) have written these next few pages on TMD to help you to understand why you may be suffering from this disorder, and to let you know that there is hope for you. Although this may appear to be somewhat “wordy,” you must understand that there is so much that goes into TMD, and it is very difficult to explain or understand in a few short words. You have come to this website seeking information so I am giving it to you! Listed below are some common signs and symptoms associated with TMD, as well as some physiology, diagnosis, and treatment.
